The Folkadelics
Show: 10pm
Cover: FREE!!
The Folkadelics’ music is an inimitable amalgamation of a little bit of reggae, funky three-part harmony vocals,
with a touch of hip hop. Sam Miller (guitar/vocals/beat boxer/harmonica) and Gavin Cummings (wah-wah
mandolin/vocals/guitar) formed The Folkadelics, formally Sampson & The Folkadelics, in 2007. The band
composed their own material, inspired by late night acoustic jam sessions and some rowdy nights. In May of 2007,
amidst the chaos of finals week, Sam and Gavin cut a self titled acoustic EP at the Ithaca College Music School. In
the fall of 2007, The Folkadelics relocated to New York City and quickly expanded, adding bass player Jon
Sandners and drummer Ian Cummings to the recipe. Together, the newly added rhythm section added the funky
backbone the band had been craving.
The most recent addition to The Folkadelics, is the captivating female vocalist Danny Farone, who completes the
three-part harmony blend. In May 2010, The Folkadelics completed and released a 5 track EP with producer
Steve Wall, who worked with Matisyahu on the live Louisville Light Sessions album. The Folkadelics are now
working on completing their full length album, featuring anticipated new material, as well as songs the band has
performing live for years. Truly entertainers, The Folkadelics’ unique sound and on stage chemistry, bring life,
energy and dancing into venues throughout the northeast.

Vesper
w/ Black Mountain Symphony
Show: 10pm
Cover: $7
Hailing from New York City, Vesper crafted their unique cello-driven rock sound in the cramped rehearsal spaces
and dank clubs of the city’s boroughs. Rising to the top of the Northeast rock scene in 2007 as runner-ups in the
finals of WHRL 103.1FM's "Most Original Band Contest" and most recently beating out over 111 Northeast bands
to win the prestigious SPAC 2010 Battle of the Band's, Vesper has established themselves as one of the most
potent, imaginative and hard-hitting rock outfits to come on the scene.
Founded by Saratoga native Aaron Lewis, Vesper’s over-the-top epic sound is the combination of Lewis'
signature visionary songwriting style with the dynamic and expressive tones of the cello, seldom heard in rock
music.
Julia Kost and Valerie Kuehne, the two fiercest lady cellists you will ever meet, lace their powerfully bowed
vibrations throughout the music (a sharp reminder that traditional classical training can be put to awesomely
wicked purposes). With the tight and lurid drumming of Felice Aiello rounding out the band’s line-up, Vesper
needs only a moment to draw you in, shake you up, and send you away a changed and inspired music listener.

Hot Buttered Rum
w/ Stone Revival Band- Featuring Vinny Amico (Moe.) and Rob Beaulieu (Raisinhead)
Show: 9:30pm
Tickets: $10
Initially formed as an acoustic string band, seven years of constant touring has transformed Hot Buttered Rum
into a plugged-in, percussive powerhouse that wows critics and fans alike. Their left-coast rock reveals an access
to jazz, country, and world music that few groups can match. While the band's music belies simple categorization,
its songwriting and stage chemistry delights listeners at every turn.
Hot Buttered Rum’s story is one of evolution. The “high altitude bluegrass” era captured on their first studio
album, In These Parts, found the band enjoying success at such diverse stages as the Newport Folk Festival,
Bonnaroo, Grey Fox, High Sierra, Wakarusa, and the Telluride Bluegrass Festival. Along the way, the group
shared the stage with some of today's most accomplished artists, including Phil Lesh, Bela Fleck, Ben Harper,
and Nickel Creek’s Chris Thile. In 2006, acoustic pioneer Mike Marshall produced Hot Buttered Rum’s second
studio album, Well-Oiled Machine, and captured the sound of a hard-touring band charting its course along the
highways and byways of American music.
The continued expansion of Hot Buttered Rum’s sound and writing found a home in Live in the Northeast (many of
the tracks on which were recorded during a live performance at The Parting Glass in Saratoga Springs, NY in
2006). More electric pickups made their way to the stage, along with an increased focus on songwriting. As the
band developed a heavier sound, fans and press began to describe them as a rock band with acoustic
instruments. It therefore came as no surprise when, following the departure of mandolinist Zac Matthews, the
other founding members Aaron Redner (fiddle and mandolin), Bryan Horne (upright bass), Nat Keefe (guitar), and
Erik Yates (banjo, guitar, woodwinds, and resophonic guitar) joined forces with Everyone Orchestra conductor
and drummer Matt Butler, who now tours with the band.
This will be Hot Buttered Rum's 5th Saratoga Springs performance and only regional performance on their current
tour, so make sure you come on down as this is going to be one show you don't want to miss!

Charlie Watts Riot
The Charlie Watts Riots emerged on to the music scene with a trunk-full of rock smarts and club credibility. Initially
a writing experiment pairing Seth Powell (vocals/guitar) and Brendan Pendergast (vocals/guitar), the duo had long
shared a desire to collaborate after years of working with their respective original bands in and around the
Albany, New York area.
The demo recording session that followed proved to be a success, and the two former frontmen turned to Mike
Pauley (vocals/bass) and Joe Putrock (drums) to solidify their sound. Discovering a common love for distortion
driven power pop, the foursome developed an immediate chemistry, rattling off a dozen original tunes ripe with
Beatlesque melodies atop buzzing guitars. With a full length album due in spring 2010, The Charlie Watts Riots
arrive with the polish of seasoned veterans, eager to share their music with the masses.

Friday, August 13
Rustic Overtones
Show: 10pm
Tickets: $13
Rustic Overtones' "The New Way Out" is the first album of entirely brand new music from the band in over eight
years. Recorded in their own makeshift studio between November of 2007 and September of 2009 it's the bands
fifth full length studio LP and first without longtime keyboard player Spencer Albee who left the group shortly after
production began to form Spencer and the School Spirit Mafia. He was replaced during the writing and recording
of the record by Nigel Hall (Soulive, Lettuce, Robert Randolph) who handles the keyboard duties on TNWO.
The one time property of Clive Davis' Arista Records, Rustic Overtones were caught in the middle of one of the
biggest industry shake-ups in music history when Davis was asked to step down from his own label of 25+ years.
The band then managed to get out of their deal with Arista Records while retaining the rights to their Master
recordings, which were released a year later by classic indie label Tommy Boy Records. After two years of more
than 260 shows a year, a widely successful radio campaign and a hit on Canada's "Much Music", Tommy Boy
Records were bought out by Warner Bros. Music and the Overtones again found themselves without a home.
The band took a knee, a deep breath and a much needed hiatus between 2002 and 2006 while individual
members formed new bands (Paranoid Social Club, Seekonk) and others took touring gigs with the likes of
Soulive and Ray Lamontagne before returning in 2007 with a triumphant concert in Portland Maine's Monument
square in front of over 6,000 fans. Three months after that, Rustic Overtones began work on a new record.. Two
years later "The New Way Out" is finally complete and standing behind it is a smarter, stronger and, in every way,
more refined band than the one who carried the same name in 2001.

Peter Prince & Moon Boot Lover
Show: 10pm
Tickets: $8
The key thing to understand right away: Peter Prince is the Moon Boot Lover. Invigorating, awe-inspiring, and with
style that's dizzying to define, Prince and company's musical saga began in New York City back sometime in 1993.
And while over the years the primary focus has undoubtedly been on the power-packed assemblage of MBL,
there have been plenty of solo endeavors as well, with more and more coming in most recent years. But with a
wide cast of crew members rotating in and out of Lover's lineup, along with plenty of side projects and one-off
collaborations with friends, Peter has remained the indomitable source of musical gravity in this circle by
contributing vocals, guitar, and songwriting throughout. As Lover's perpetual front man, he has been orbited over
the years by such notable talents as Neal & Alan Evans (Soulive), drummers Andy Herrick (Assembly of Dust) and
Mike "Slam" Dunkle, bassists Jon Hawes (formerly of Percy Hill), Nate Edgar (John Brown's Body), Owen Yost
(Broadway productions such as "Movin' Out" and "Aida"), Jeremiah Hosea (James Blood Ulmer, Gigi and
Earthdriver), guitarist Johnny Trama (Jiggle the Handle, formerly of Rockett Band), and longtime friend Jeff
Merrow on keys.
Having toured the country many times over in the past 15 years, Peter has also shared the stage with such
diverse musical talents as Derek Trucks Band, Dave Matthews collaborator Tim Reynolds, moe., longtime Frank
Zappa vocalist/guitarist Ike Willis, Keller Williams, Umphrey's McGee and Maceo Parker to name a few. With heavy
year-long touring, including dates at popular summer festivals such as Gathering of the Vibes, moe.down,
Berkshire Mountain Music Festival, Wormtown Music Festival, and Strangefolk's Garden of Eden festival, Peter &
MBL have continually drawn the attention of new fans wherever they land. Peter was even tapped to co-host the
first annual Jammys, an awards ceremony presented by the folks at Jambands.com and Relix Magazine, with
Jambands.com Editor-in-Chief Dean Budnick.
Whether solo or with the full-throttle firepower of MBL... to witness Peter Prince is to believe in music.
