CAPITAL ZEN with HIGH PEAKS

Forged in the PCB-laden waters of
the Hudson River, Capital Zen’s
minds and music have mutated
beyond genre classification. They
keep their audience on their feet time
and time again with explosively
danceable, yet edgy and addictive
grooves – not to mention a keen
sense of surprise!

Capital Zen breaches thresholds, from
inciting paranoia to the quest for life’s
“undo” button. No matter the dire
outlook of Mayan Prophecies or the
sugar-coated gumdrop tales of
Utopianism, Capital Zen doesn’t try to
think for you - rather, they ask you to
look within and question what is real
and what is right.

So, turn your light on, stop making the
same mistakes and let go the
stranglehold of a reality TV-induced
status quo…because when you’re
hangin’ with CZ, livin’ is easy!

SONIC BIDS presents:
FREE SHOW
(under 21 $5.00)

HEY MARSEILLE
and                     SAMSON and the FOLKADELICS

Hey Marseilles plays orchestral folk
songs, interweaving eclectic
instrumentation with melodic musings on
time and place. Having landed on
Sound NW’s “Top 10
Bands to Watch for 2008,” HM
released their first full-length album, To
Travels & Trunks, late that year
and have been garnering favorable
reviews from Seattle critics in the
months since. The record landed airplay
on independent radio taste-maker KEXP
and secured a top ten listing in
Seattle’s Three Imaginary
Girls’ “Top Northwest
Releases of 2008 Readers Poll.”
HM played SXSW 2009, are booked for
the main stage at Seattle’s
Capitol Hill Block Party, and have been
selected for both Bumbershoot and CMJ
2009. Recent months have seen them
share bills with The Constantines,
Cotton Jones, and fellow Seattleites
The Long Winters and David Bazan.

Take a little bit of reggae, mix it with some
funky three-part harmony vocals, add a
touch of hip-hop, and the essence of
something that your parents may have
listened to in the 60’s and you’ve got the
unique style of newcomers Sampson and
the Folkadelics. Formed as acoustic project
focusing on old folk classics,
guitarist/vocalist Sam Miller began spitting
his own rhymes in December 2006. Guitar
player and vocalist Gavin Cummings helped
to enhance the sound by adding mandolin
with a fresh new style. Bassist Jon
Sandners was added in 2007, creating a
fuller and funkier sound, and Ian Cummings,
brother of the mentioned, brings to life a
beat and inclining for rhythm that transcends
his years. The most recent addition to the
band is vocalist Danny Faraone, who
completed the three-part blend with a voice
one can only hear to believe.

Jeff Bujak is a pianist/keyboardist from Syracuse,
New York. Born on June 6, 1979, he began
classical piano lessons at age 5. Since then, he
has toured with Lotus, The New Deal, EOTO,
Marco Benevento Trio and many other live
electronica bands.

Jeff Bujak, the solo project, has progressive piano
songwriting with electronica rhythms behind it.
Based on classical and jazz 3progressions, the
10-30 minute songs progress through multiple
time signatures, tempos and rhythms. He often
offers teases and samples of other band's songs
into his own songs when playing live. Bujak is also
known for his distorted tone of a Fender Rhodes
electronic piano.

Being that Probing Digit is
incomparably superior to all
other musical acts (including
but not limited to Beethoven,
Led Zeppelin, The Beatles,
and Air Supply), this is an
impossible category to satisfy
with an answer.

Try to construct in your head
the greatest combination of
musicians, and songs, then
multiply that by infinity.

Mathematically equating, that
scenario equals X and
Probing Digit is X+1
