RAILBIRD (Experimental / Psychedelic / Pop)

Railbird, is the musical project of songwriter Sarah Pedinotti. They were featured as one of “5 Artists You Should Know About” in Relix Magazine’s December 2010 – The Family Issue. Though now Brooklyn-based, the band’s Saratoga/Capital Region roots gained it titles of “Best Band” in July 2009, 2010, and 2011 and “Best Indie Rock Band” in 2010 by Metroland.

After self-releasing their debut album, No One, in March 2011, the band toured to and from the SxSW Festival in Austin. The album took a year and a half to complete. A month prior to the album’s release, their song “Ashes In” off No One was featured on TVD’s The Idelic Hour with Jon Sidel, as a “Hit of the Week.”
Railbird have a new single (and accompanying video) “Jump Ship,” which features ANTI recording artist Sean Rowe and Sarah Barthel of Phantogram.

CUDDLE MAGIC (Baroque-pop)

“Cuddle Magic is a collective of 10 which practices mutant pop-rock-folk with a heavy slant from Steve Reich’ian netherlands. Everything in Info Nympho is a combination of cold wave, submerged neoclassical, oblique fantasy pop, and modern folk. Consider the lightly treated vocals in Moby Dickless with its Bugglesy/Krafterkian ambiance, not to mention the Lichtenstein pop art lyrics and cultural references within a rolling psychotic synaesthesia. Then there’s the math rock influence, everything rhythmically decided according to repeating cycles and precise measurements, that Reich element that keeps displacing the quirky warmth the cuts can’t help but contain in an oft-arctic wave front……..Don’t come to this one with too many expectations because you’ll just have to shed most of them—and happily so.” (Mark Tucker, Folk And Music Exchange)

“Here’s something great. With lightness, vigour & appetite, these Wisconsin folkies set themselves apart from all the lonelies and weepies.” (Gramophone) …and … “Much like the death-defying motorcycle jumping performance artist for which they’ve named themselves, this Wisconsin trio is fearless in their pursuit of artistic glory.” (My Old Kentucky Blog)
